Hej, I've read your news article, and I think that's a good way to ask for help or inspiration, but, hm, I don't like to disgust you in any way, or say such things like, to it so, or do it so. No, the best is, you look here around, and ask the peoples self. It's better as to follow a way of a another, and better to increase your skill in your style and art.
A another good digital paint program is ArtRage, it's much easier and not so expensive as photoshop.
But, I prefer Photoshop, because you can do so much more things with it, and find a lot of good stuff and tutorials for it here.
